Successful...and Enormous were some of the challenging words at last week's Spelling Bee. Silent E often raised it's ugly head, students either forgot it or added it on when it wasn't there. Congratulations to Spelling Bee Champ Ariana Hernandez and all those who participated! Plans for the Spring/Valentine's Day Dance on February 11th are under way. More information will be sent home in February.
This is not related to Burks or even to school but the Mardi Gras Barkus Dog Parade is on Valentine's Day this year in downtown McKinney. The theme "Barkus does Romance." It's fun to watch or if you envision your dog dressed as a "famous valentine," contact Blynda Christian at the Art Institute of McKinney 972-529-6872.
