HELP FOR OUR SCHOOL

Burks in the midst of a big school wide fundraiser. All grades are selling delicious cookie dough, rolls, and breadsticks. This stuff makes some of the best cookies I've ever tasted and is super easy to use! The money raised will be used for some emergency items needed in the building and the 4th graders will be taking their earnings and using them to fund their accounts for next year's science camp. There are many great flavors and kinds to choose from. So if you haven't purchased yet, just find a Burks student and I'm sure they'll be glad to show you their brochure! The sale continues through Monday, Feb. 22.

DANCE, DANCE, DANCE & SCHOOL WIDE FUNDRAISER

Remember, our Family Valentine's Dance is this Thursday, the 11th, from 6:30-8 pm in the cafeteria. That is, if the weather cooperates! If, by chance, we do get bad weather and school is cancelled, the dance will be too. :( Otherwise, we'll see you there gettin' your groove on, taking pictures, you know, havin' FUN!

Due to a need for some emergency funds and just because we love cookies(!), the school is having a fundraiser. The sale began on Monday, the 8th and goes until Monday, the 22nd. We are selling cookie dough, lava cakes, Auntie Anne's Breadsticks and pumpkin, red velvet, chocolate, and carrot rolls. Ummm, I get hungry just thinking about it all! These are the same great products that our 4th & 5th graders have sold to go to camp. In fact, all of the money the 4th graders earn during this sale will be going towards their camp accounts. So find a Burks student and support our school. Your tummy will be glad you did!

Burks' Teacher of the Year

Okay, one more post and then somebody's really got to take this over...
Congratualtions to Mrs. Vanessa Chavez, Teacher of the Year (first to the left with the rest of the 5th grade teaching team)! Many parents may also remember her as Mrs. Lucero. She's taught a few different grades at Burks and smiled upon everyone who passes through Burks' halls.
PTO meeting this Tuesday at 4pm!
