5 more days until Friday

Students are counting down the days until Friday. Not only is it the last day before Winter Break but all the classes are having Holiday Parties on Friday afternoon. Parents are always welcome to attend. Remember to bring your driver's license to show at the front desk!

Mrs. Daniel said the second grade team is encouraging healthy food options like apple slices, carrots and cheese cubes so they don't end up with 50 million leftover cupcakes. Leftover cupcakes is one of the reasons I go to the Holiday Party! Something tells me there will still be plenty of sweets to go around.

Firsts

This is the first blog post and last week was Burks' first Holiday Gift Shop in a long time. Mrs. Montgomery mentioned the students who were at Burks last time there was a Gift Shop are now in high school. I think the students had a great time and most took shopping for their family very seriously. There were many whose hearts were bigger than their allowances. My favorites were kindergarteners who brought 6 or 7 items to the register and then very solemnly handed us a single dollar bill.
